Tim Tebow holding Maxwell Trophy.
University of Florida Gators Wonder-Boy Tim Tebow captured 2 major NCAA football awards in Orlando on Thursday night, on his way to Manhattan for this weekend’s Heisman Award ceremony. Tebow (seen above) won both the 2007 Maxwell Award AND the 2007 Davey O’Brien National QB Award. It seems as if Tebow will win the Heisman in a landslide after NCAA records for a quarterback. He ran for 22 touchdowns and passed for over 29, to set new precedents for future football players to strive for. Never in the recorded history of NCAA football has a player scored this many touchdowns. Heisman historian Mark Davis of Tampa, Fl stated that “Tebow is a new prototype for playing the quarterback position. He runs like a bruising halfback and passes almost as good as former Gator Great QB. Bob “Snake” Hewko.”
Head Coach Urban Meyer finally broke his silence, by saying “Tim deserves it.”
